Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old private hotel staff committed suicide by jumping from a flyover near the Ananda Rao Cirle in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 3 am and a few passers-by alerted the jurisdictional police about it. A patrolling team swiftly responded and reached the spot in minutes.

Following the inspection, the police identified the deceased as Thimmaraju, a native of Hassan. It was learnt that he was working for a private hotel in Bengaluru for the past several months.

The deceased could not be identified immediately as he was not carrying any documents.

He left his footwear on the flyover before jumping down to his death from a small gap between a loop where the flyover divides, the police said.

The police shifted the body to Victoria Hospital and informed his relatives about the incident. So far the exact cause for his extreme step could not be determined.

A case of unnatural death was registered with the Upparpet Police here and an investigation is underway. (Suicide is not the solution. Help is available. If you are feeling helpless, please call +91 9880396331 for support.)
