Technician arrested for sexually harassing 30-yr-old woman

Bengaluru, NT Correspondent: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed by a water purifier technician who had visited her house for a routine service in the city.

As per the complaint, the incident took place on May 4 when the victim had initiated a service request with the manufacturer for maintenance of her water purifier. Around 5 pm as the technician arrived, the victim welcomed him and later got busy with her work in the kitchen.

However the technician realising that the woman was alone, allegedly attempted to grope her from behind. To protect herself, the woman locked herself in the kitchen and called a nearby friend for help also alerting the police.

The accused had by then escaped from the place. The police managed to track down the technician and subjected him to questioning. A case under IPC Section 354 A has been registered against him.
