Bengaluru: A class 10 student at a private school near Nagarbhavi has reportedly gone missing after his classes on Monday. After failing to get any clue about him, the child’s parents have now filed a missing complaint at the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station in the city.
Police investigation so far has revealed that the missing student, Puneeth Kumar, who was studying at St Sophia Convent School, had attended his classes on Monday. The CCTV installed at the school premises showed him boarding a bus around 5:30 p.m. from outside the school.
However, he did not reach home. Unable to bear the mystery of his sudden disappearance, Kumar’s parents also approached the school but could not get any lead from the management. The school said that Kumar was an active student but they have no knowledge about his absence.
Recently, the city has witnessed a rise in children, especially between the age groups of 15 and 18 years, running away from their homes either because of depression or due to a lack of interest in studies.
Meanwhile, the police have deployed different teams in search of the missing students and have alerted police stations across the state regarding the incident.
