Shootout in KR Puram: 2 severely injured

Bengaluru: Residents were horrified after witnessing two people being shot at by an armed gang in Seegehalli, KR Puram on Thursday afternoon. As per the sources, at least six rounds were fired at two persons, identified as Shiva Reddy and Ashok, by unidentified assailants who drove away on two bikes. The severely injured Reddy and Ashok were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Later in the day, the jurisdictional police said that the firing was done by a gang from Andhra Pradesh to exact revenge on Shiva Reddy and Ashok. According to sources from the police, Shiva Reddy was a rowdy sheeter of Madanapalli Town police station in Andhra Pradesh and is said to be accused in many criminal cases including two murders.

Shiva Reddy has been constructing an apartment in KR Puram here. Reddy, along with Ashok who was acting as his driver, had come to see the construction work around 3 p.m. when they were shot at by the assailants. The jurisdictional police have launched a probe into the incident and have been trying to identify the shooters. The investigation is underway
