
3 men picked up for assaulting bakery workers

Bengaluru: In a swift action, the HAL police detained three persons allegedly involved in assaulting bakery workers over a petty issue. The accused were identified by the police as Karthik, 20, Salman, 20, both residents of Ashwath Nagar; and Karthik N, a resident of Marathahalli.
However, two more accused involved in the assault are at large. The incident had reportedly taken place during the wee hours of Thursday. The accused were arrested based on a complaint filed by the victims. The accused had approached the bakery and asked for cigarettes.
However, after getting their items, the trio engaged in long chats without seeming to pay for their items. When a worker asked for money, the accused allegedly abused him, and later when another worker joined him, the accused allegedly assaulted both of them. The police had scanned the CCTV of the incident spot and identified the accused.
Later, the video went viral on social media, with netizens demanding strict actions against the accused for assaulting the bakery workers. Home Minister Araga Jnanendra too reacted as the incident came to light and said that he has directed the police to take strict action against the accused
