Chilly weather takes life of elderly man

Bengaluru: An elderly man died in Muddebihal on Saturday due to the prevalent cold weather.

The deceased has been identified as Bhimappa Hadimani (75), a resident of Netaji Nagar in Muddebihal town. Hadimani had gone to a liquor shop at Basaveshwara Circle early in the morning, where he is said to have collapsed while still clutching onto some money.

Passersby tried to bring him back to consciousness but in vain. They then informed the jurisdictional police. When cops reached the spot along with a doctor, he was declared dead.
