
Pregnant woman dies after taking abortion pills
Woman had excessive bleeding and unbearable pain after taking abortion pills but refused to take medical help

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 33-year-old pregnant woman died of complications, after taking an abortion pill bought over the counter in the city. The deceased was identified as Preethi Kushwah, an employee of a reputed e-commerce firm. Her husband, Devbrath, is also an employee of a private company here.
According to sources, the couple was residents of New Mico Layout in Begur. It was revealed that the couple had recently come to know that Kushwah was again pregnant after already having an 11-month-old son. Concerned over this, Kushwah asked her husband to get abortion pills.
However, Devbrath insisted that they will have to visit the hospital and undergo the procedure. Despite this, Kushwah reportedly consumed the pills without informing her husband. On Monday, she called up Devbrath and informed him that she was bleeding.
Devbrath said that he had insisted on taking her to the hospital again, but Kushwah refused. Later, as she lost consciousness, Devbrath and Kushwah’s brother rushed her to a hospital, where she was reportedly declared ‘brought dead.’
The police said that as per the investigations and statements from the family members of the woman, it was revealed that the woman had died of complications after consuming abor tion pills. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
