Stabbed for intervening between warring couple

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old who was allegedly attacked by his neighbouring family members is recovering at a hospital in the city. He was attacked just because his father scolded the neighbours not to quarrel during the night. Khalid, a resident of Valmiki Nagar, is being treated at Victoria Hospital after he was attacked with a machete.
The incident had reportedly taken place on Wednesday night after Khalid’s family got disturbed due to the noises from their neighbour’s house, where a couple had been quarrelling among themselves. Annoyed at this, Khalid’s father approached the neighbour, Amjad Pasha, and scolded him for disturbing others during the night.
Both men began arguing over the issue and at one point, Pasha allegedly hit Khalid’s father. After Khalid’s father and Amjad Pasha went out of their houses, their family members started hurling abuse at each other, during which Pasha’s son, wielding a machete, allegedly attacked Khalid severely injuring him. Based on a complaint, the police have taken up a case of an ‘attempt to murder’ case against the Pasha’s son, who is currently absconding.
