People buying Siddu a helicopter to fly for Badami: Zameer

Bengaluru: Months ago, Leader of the Opposition (LOP) in the Assembly Siddaramaiah had remarked that since his constituency, Badami is too far away from Bengaluru where he is based, he might think of contesting from elsewhere in May 2023. His fans from the town have found a novel solution: They plan on buying him a helicopter, according to Chamarajpet MLA Zameer Ahmed.

“When I was traveling (to Badami), people surrounded me and said that we should send Siddaramaiah (to contest). They said they hadn’t experienced this kind of development in 60 years, but have seen development in four and a half years under Siddaramaiah,” Zameer said.

“The reason that Siddaramaiah reconsidered is that an MLA should visit his constituency every 15 days but he wouldn’t get the time,” he added. “People from the taluka (Badami) are raising funds to buy a helicopter to gift Siddaramaiah even if it is very expensive, say Rs20 to Rs25 crore. They requested they wanted me to ensure that Siddaramaiah should contest from here (Badami) only. This was their demand,” Zameer said.

Zameer Ahmed has been a very vocal Siddaramaaiah supporter, who has in the past claimed that during his travels, people wanted the LOP to be chief minister a second time.
