Bengaluru: Countering the reports of him being arrested by the police, Attica Gold Company’s founder and managing director, Bommanahalli Babu, on Monday clarified that the allegations were purely made to malign his name and business.

During the press conference in Bengaluru, he denied being arrested by the police or harassing anyone. “I have only one wife and two children,” he said. “Police from Eluru had visited my residence here and had asked me to reply to a notice filed by my adopted son’s wife,” he said.

Babu stated that he had adopted his elder brother’s son and had him married to a woman from Eluru. “However, there were some issues between the couple due to which she had filed a case (under section 498 IPC) of domestic violence against her husband, me, and my family,” Babu said.

The police allegedly had insisted that Babu and his family must visit Eluru and reply to the notice there. “I approached the police and issued my reply to the notice. But I was neither arrested nor had I married another woman,” he added.

Babu also said that this is not the first time that he was being targeted by the media. “Early reports claiming that my company had been purchasing stolen jewelleries are all false,” he said.On being asked why he was being targeted, Babu said, “With the upcoming elections, this is cheap politics played by a few people who are intentionally attempting to malign my name,” he said.

“Recently an FIR was filed at a police station in Tumkur district against me alleging that I had given a murder contract. It is all politics and the person who approached the police was a politician from the district,” he said. “I do not know from where the false information spreads,” he added.
