Bengaluru: The state government has issued fresh guidelines to private schools in the city, making the wearing of masks in closed spaces and ensuring thermal scanning due to the fear of an upsurge in Covid-19 cases.
The government has made the use of masks in public places compulsory once again as the pandemic begins to build around the world. This is, however, a “precautionary measure to ensure low infection rate” in the city.
Private schools have been asked to follow standard operating procedures of the Covid-19 protocol, which include social distancing, thermal scanning for staff and children alongside mandatory use of masks by the Associated Managements of Schools in Karnataka.
According to the KAMS general secretary D Shahi Kumar, students and staff members returning from winter holidays need to be tested for symptoms and need to be isolated to safeguard the others. Bangalore University has also started taking measures, and has made wearing of masks compulsory for its staff, students and administration bodies.
