Thief arrested in Hulimavu, jewellery recovered

Bengaluru: Hulimavu police nabbed a notorious offender and recovered stolen jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from his possession. The accused was identified by the police as Santosh.

The police said that the accused was found to be involved in more than 18 theft cases detected at various police stations in the city. Recently a city-based couple, who returned to their house in Hulimavu after a trip to Andhra Pradesh, forgot their luggage bag at their compound wall, which contained jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 15 lakh.

It went missing the next morning when they remembered it the following morning. Immediately a complaint was lodged at the jurisdictional police station. The police scanned the CCTV footage and identified the accused.
