Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old student of a private college allegedly jumped off the third floor of a building in Subramanya Nagar, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place on Wednesday between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., as the police suspected. They said that the reason for his alleged suicide has not yet been ascertained. The deceased was identified as Pavan, 20, a resident of Hegganahalli in the city, who was reportedly pursuing his final year of BBM at a private college here.
As per the sources, Pavan was sighted sitting on the ground near the Milk Colony in the evening. In the night, he allegedly entered a building, climbed to the third floor, and jumped off the building. A few residents, who saw him lying injured on the building premises, immediately alerted the jurisdictional police. After an inspection by the cops, the body was sent to MS Ramaiah Hospital.
“I heard a loud thud and ran to see what that was. I saw this boy lying on the ground. There wasn’t much blood, and I initially thought he must have passed out. A few people joined me, and after carefully examining him, we observed severe injuries on his face and one of his legs. We could not recognise him as he was not from our area,” a local resident, Mithun, told News Trail. The police have filed a case of unnatural death (UDR) and are further investigating, they said.
