Ten wickets for Kiwis, but dil se Mumbaikar!

A test to remember for Mumbai- born Ajaz Patel (and certainly forever for cricket lovers), the Kiwi who took 10 wickets in an innings, has received a special gift - a jersey signed by members of the Indian team. He has etched his name in the history books as he went on to become only the third bowler to scalp all ten wickets in a Test innings, joining Jim Laker and Anil Kumble in the honours list. Although Team India convincingly won the match by 372 runs, this Test match will be remembered for generations as ‘Aamchi Ajaz 10-fer.’

Such was Ajaz Patel’s performance that former India opener Virender Sehwag told the spinner that his feat has overshadowed India’s win and wished him luck in his future endeavors. Mumbai Cricket Association chief Vijay Patil also felicitated Ajaz with the score sheet and a memento. The spinner too, did his bit for the upcoming MCA museum as he handed over his New Zealand Test jersey and the 10-fer ball for the MCA museum.
