Bengaluru: On Thursday, Congress MLA from Chittapur and former minister Priyank Kharge tabled a private member bill for the prevention of corruption in recruitment examinations in the Assembly during the last day of the winter session in Belagavi. Kharge, who has been very vocal about the police sub-inspector (PSI) recruitment scam, said that the law if passed, would act as a deterrent against future instances of cheating in recruitment exams.
“The Karnataka Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2022, has been proposed to provide for effective measures to prevent and curb the offences of leakage of question papers and use of unfair means at public examinations for the purpose of recruitment to any post under the state government, including autonomous bodies, authorities, boards, or corporations,” Kharge said.
