
Vajra passes to be costlier, BMTC revises passenger fare

Bengaluru: In view of continuous hike in fuel prices, to keep the financial interest of the corporation, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), has decided to revise the rates of daily and monthly passes for its Vajra services.
Vajra monthly passes will now cost Rs 1,800, increased from Rs 1,500. The Vajra daily passes will cost Rs 120, an increase of Rs 20. Ticket fares for passengers who possess an ordinary monthly pass have been increased from Rs 20 to Rs 25.
Ticket fare for senior citizens has also increased from Rs 20 to Rs 25. Further, the facility which would allow ordinary monthly pass holders and senior citizens with ordinary monthly passes to travel for free in the Vajra services on Sundays has been withdrawn, a BMTC communiqué informed.
