
Man murdered in fight over taking friend’s headphones

Bengaluru: Numerous murders are being committed, citing trivial reasons in the city. A labourer was murdered by one of his friends for using his headphones without permission in the latest incident.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night while the friends were having a New Year party at an under-construction building in Dodda Nagamangala near Electronic City. The deceased was identified by the police as Karthik, 27, hailing from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu. Upon investigation, it was revealed he worked as a painter and was therefore allowed to sleep inside the building.
“The men were drunk that night and as they were partying, Karthik took headphones from one of his friends, identified as Rajneesh, allegedly without his permission which angered Rajneesh,” the police said.
After an inquiry with the other labourers, the police said that a heated argument between the two turned violent, with Karthik being brutally beaten up by the accused.Later the other labourers stopped them and asked them to leave. “Badly injured, Karthik died during his sleep,” police said.
Following an inspection, the accused has been taken into custody, and a murder case has been filed against him, the police added.
