Bengaluru: The ruling BJP has launched the campaign for the 2023 Assembly elections with the visit of national leaders. There is a beeline of leaders who have been given the task of regularly visiting the pollbound Karnataka to “somehow” prevent the Congress party from grabbing power.

The Congress that ruled the state from 2013 to 2018, fell short of over 50 seats to form the government. It burnt its fingers by forming the coalition government with the Janata Dal (Secular). A coup by a section of Congress and the JDS MLAs led to the fall of the 13-month-old government headed by Chief Minister HD Kumarasawamy.

In the wake of reports of the fractured verdict in the next election, the saffron party leaders are rushing to Karnataka to prevent it as they had to stand before the doors of JDS seeking its support to form the next government. BJP National President JP Nadda will be visiting Karnataka on a two-day visit to attend the meeting of Madhugiri Shakthi Kendra Pramukhs in Tumakuru tomorrow (Thursday).

Later, he would visit Siddaganga Mutt to have the darshan of the Gadduge of Dr Shivakumara Swamiji, and to hold talks with the present head of the mutt. Then, he will visit Chitradurga and garland the statues of Onake Obavva, Veera Madakari Nayak, and Dr BR Ambedkar. Later, he participated in the workers’ convention of SC/ST and OBCs.

Subsequently, he would visit Sri Madara Chennaiah Mutt, and Sirigere Taralabalu Mutt and then attend a meeting of MP, MLAs, MLCs, and the district president. On mutt run On January 6, Nadda would visit Sri Panchamasali Mutt in Harirar, Sri Kanaka Gurupeeta, Sri Valmiki Guru Peeta of Rajanahalli, and later participate in Booth Vijay Abhiyan of Davnagere North.

This is followed by addressing a huge public meeting in Sira of Tumkur district. He will be accompanied by BJP National General Secretary and In-Charge of Karnataka affairs Arun Singh. After two days of the state visit, the duo would return to Delhi on a special flight from Bengaluru.
