Karnataka modifies Covid-19 guidelines

NT Correspondent

Bengaluru: The Karnataka health department has withdrawn the guidelines it had rolled out on December 31, which stated that international travellers from six countries – China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea, will have to mandatorily home quarantine for a span of one week.

The order was put in place considering the recommendations of the state Covid technical advisory committee (TAC). Karnataka was the only state to have implemented guidelines that differed from that of the Centre’s. This was causing confusion among international travellers, especially for those who travel for business purposes, but only for short durations.

However, the department’s new circular dated January 2, says that the previous circular has been scrapped and the GoI guidelines applies to international travellers entering the state.
