Chain snatchers on the prowl, again

Bengaluru: According to sources from police, the city police detected at least four chainsnatching cases in the North Division within a few hours in the morning. While the Bagalgunte police were alerted about two chain snatching incidents, two similar cases were reported each at Yeshwanthpur police and Peenya police station in the city just between 5:30 am to 9 am on Friday.

Around 5:30 am, Sarvamangala, a resident of Bagalagunte police station limits, was walking towards her house when two miscreants on a bike allegedly snatched her gold chain weighing 60 grams before speeding away. As the woman raised the alarm for help, the offenders had already disappeared. A similar incident occurred just a few metres away.

Priya Lakshmi, a Ramaiah Layout resident, lost her 80-gram gold chain to the offenders who approached her on a bike around 7:30 am and escaped the scene in a few seconds. Jayaprabha, a resident of Yeshwanthpur police station limits, was walking near JP Park around 9 am when two bike-borne assailants snatched her 50-gram gold chain before fleeing.
