
Man arrested for raising false alarm

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police on Saturday arrested an unidentified person for providing false information that 30 people were stuck in a drain in Yeshwanthpur. The man in question was found covered in drain dirt in Yeshwantpur.
He appeared to be under the influence of the recreational substance, Marijuana. As per the complaint, the man fell into a drain near the MEI Signal in Yeshwanthpur. He later pulled himself out. The locals present on the spot quizzed him about his condition. The accused told them that there were around 30 people still stuck in the drain.
They informed the local authorities about the matter. Upon learning about the incident, the police and fire fighting authorities soon rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operations. But it soon turned out to be a false alarm. According to the authorities, nobody was stuck in the drain.
The accused who could not be identified told the officials that he came through the Srirampur drain. A case has been registered against the man by the officials. The investigation is underway
