Leopard, cubs spotted in city again

Bengaluru: In what has become a feature in the city at regular intervals, another leopard sighting took place. This time it was a female with two cubs in the Nagarabhavi area i n Bengaluru.

The three leopards were captured on CCTV cameras in the area. Locals say that there has been an atmosphere of terror in the locality due to the spotting of the wild cats. They added that a late-night commuter got into an accident as he lost control of his motorcycle upon spotting the leopards.

Forest officials said that the leopards cleverly managed to avoid cage traps set up by the department. Back in early December, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF) SS Ravishankar confirmed that a single leopard had made multiple appearances across a number of areas like Kengeri and Chikkajala.

The leopards are suspected to have come from the Turahalli reserve forest and killed a calf in the Banashankari sixth phase area as well.
