Uproar as man runs over sleeping dog with car

Bengaluru: In another case of cruelty to animals, a car driver allegedly ran over a sleeping dog near Sapthagiri Layout in Jnanabharathi Police Station limits here. According to the jurisdictional police, the incident took place on Saturday around 11 am and came to light while scanning CCTV footage of the area recently.

As seen in the footage, a stray dog sleeping on the road wakes up to the sound of a car approaching it. As it tries to cross the road, the car driver allegedly increases the speed of the vehicle and runs over the animal’s waist leaving it badly wounded. After struggling for a few minutes, the dog breathed its last.

The jurisdictional police noted the registration number of the car and found it to be in the name of G Subramanya. A case has been registered in this regard and further probe is on.
