Mysuru: In a show of ingenuity and tact, a farmer from Ajjipura village in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar in Karnataka has painted his pet dog in black stripes to make it look like a tiger in a bid to protect his crop against attacks from wild animals. However, as it turned out the sight of the striped animal created a fear-psychosis among the villagers till they blew the gaffe over its true identity.
It is not known whether wild animals were scared after seeing the dog in tiger stripes but the villagers were no doubt terrified when they came across the 'tiger' while taking a stroll in the village. Some of the villagers were heard shouting 'tiger' on seeing the 'duplicate tiger' but heaved a sigh of relief only after confirming that it was a pet dog. The video of the 'tiger' has gone viral on social media and some people have commended the farmer for his innovative idea.
The only give away : Though the farmer has taken a lot of time to paint the stripes on his dog, he just can't make it change its gait which in no way resembles that of a tiger on the prowl!
Farmers come out with innovative ideas to protect their crops against attacks from wild animals. These tactics include erecting scarecrows, playing recorded sounds of other animals and musical instruments and installing gadgets around the field which emanate loud sounds and scare away animals.
The intelligent farmer of Ajjipura village in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar has in fact gone a step ahead and devised a technique few would have thought of. In a bid to save his crops from wild animals, he has painted his pet dog in black stripes to make it look like a wild tiger. Kudos to the farmers for his unique idea.
