2 booked for possessing unaccounted money

Bengaluru: Two persons were picked up by the patrolling police with unaccounted cash of Rs 10 lakh which was allegedly being transported in a car in the outskirts of the city. According to sources, a team of cops during their night rounds noticed an SUV parked at an isolated place near Huskur in Hebbagodi police station limits.

On suspicion, the cops approached the vehicle and allegedly found two persons counting cash inside the car. On being questioned, one of the persons introduced himself as Mallesh, a bill collector from Huskur gram panchayat while the other person was identified as Rajesh, a resident of Neelamangala.

Following a search, the cops recovered a bag containing Rs 10 lakh from the car and asked Mallesh and Rajesh for the details of the cash. As the duo failed to provide the proper details, the cops took them to the Hebbagodi police station.

A case has been registered at the jurisdictional police station regarding the matter and the cash has been handed over to the court. Further investigation is being conducted, the police have informed.
