Bengaluru: The two-day Business Summit 2023 got underway at Palace Grounds here on Saturday with a gamut of entrepreneurs setting up stalls for the promotion of various products and services.

NGOs being run by women’s organisations such as ‘Aasra’ also put up a stall.
The MIA business summit seeks to assist 50 start-ups with everything starting from the concept to its pitch for loans, associating with 10 technical institutes to help their students with internship programmes, increasing their membership base to over 1,000, empowerment of women entrepreneurs, helping companies meet their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) obligations, among other things. Noted city-based philanthropist, Ziaullah Sheriff of India Builders, inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon.
Speaking on the occasion he said, “Business, if it is to be done correctly, a great many factors need to be taken into account. Knowing how is essential. A business never fails you. It is you who failed the business. No business, be it big or small fails you. One, you need to have good and firm intentions. Secondly, you need to have courage. Thirdly, you need to have the knowledge on how you can grow your business,” he said.
“There are many factors. For example, if one cannot do a thing by himself, then one can opt to pursue a said venture with two or three friends. Another method would be to obtain a loan, which of course not everyone gets.
One needs to give security for a loan. You have to give guarantees and take risks for the latter. People tend not to be keen on risks. They are quick to jump on an opportunity to make a profit, though,” he further added.
