Ghastly trail: Police clueless about spate of murders in city

Bengaluru: The police have found an unidentified body near Sunkadakatte, here, wrapped in a sheet, the third such incident to rock the city in a month. This is the third such incident, where an unidentified dead body was found abandoned. The body was found by locals after a foul stench emanated from it. They later informed the police.
The Kamakshipalya police have visited the spot but have not been able to ascertain the identity of the victim. However, the body is said to be of a man aged around 60 years. Last week, in another incident a decomposed body of a woman was found in the Yeswanthpur Railway Station.
The body was found inside a polythene drum.Kusuma Hariprasad, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Bengaluru Division said that the cleaning staff found the decomposed body on platform number one.
A team of forensic experts conducted a probe at the station and the body was sent to the Ramaiah Memorial Hospital for further examination. Police sources had said that the woman appeared to have been strangled to death. In December 2022, a dead body of a woman was found underneath the seat on a train at the Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT).
The officials said that the body was covered in a yellow package and kept underneath a seat like luggage. The police are yet to find the identity of the two women whose bodies were found at the railway stations.
