Driver stabbed to death by friend for giving good counsel

Bengaluru: A 32-year old driver died after he was stabbed by his relative for advising him to take care of his family. The deceased was identified as Keshava Murthy, a driver of a mini bus. A friend of the deceased, Kallesh, had suffered stab injuries during the scuffle.

The accused was identified by the police as Bharath, a relative of Murthy, the deceased. The incident had taken place in Rajagopala Nagar in Bengaluru.According to sources, Bharath's wife had sought help from Murthy requesting him to advise her husband to take care of the family well.

Bharath had been working at a garment factory in the area. As Murthy and his friend Kallesh were walking towards home, they met Bharath. Murthy stopped Bharath and tried to advise him to be a responsible husband. The trio then visited a local wine shop.

After being drunk, the trio were heading back to their houses, when Murthy again chided Bharath for being irresponsible which enraged Bharath. The two allegedly exchanged heated words and the fight took an ugly turn with Bharath taking a knife out of his pocket and attacking Murthy and Kallesh.

Murthy and Kallesh were shifted to a hospital and it was said that Murthy's condition was critical. Despite being treated for over a week, Murthy succumbed to the stab injuries on Saturday. A murder case has been filed at the Soladevanahalli police station against Bharath who is currently absconding.
