Misinformation by media spoiling my reputation: Actor Manjesh

Bengaluru: Misinformation spread by several media platforms regarding a criminal case has led an innocent person to suffer mental stress after they published his photo instead of that of the one accused in the case.

Recently, the Sadduguntepalya police in Bengaluru had apprehended a person, identified as Manjuanth, for allegedly running a human trafficking racket through a mobile phone app. Several media publications in the city went on to carry the photo of a sandalwood actor Manjesh in their reports.

A few of them also had wrongfully claimed in their report that the actor was involved in the racket. Claiming that the misinformation is harming his reputation in the film industry, actor Manjesh on Tuesday approached Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru South East, CK Baba, seeking help.

DCP CK Baba officially clarified that the person who was arrested in the criminal case, Manjunath, and actor Manjesh have no link whatsoever with each other. “They are both different people. Actor Manjesh has nothing to do with the case,” CK baba detailed.
