Hussain breaks the deadlock in style

Bangalore Independents FC have returned to winning ways in the BDFA Super Division League with a convincing 3-1 defeat against FC Deccan at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Wednesday. Mahin P Hussain broke the deadlock in the 47th minute. Another forward Surya scored an excellent goal in the 87th minute and for the cherry on the cake, he scored a penalty goal in extra time. There was some joy for FCD when Independents’ Anthony Jay Praksh’s netted an own goal in the second half. Independents started the game on the front foot, dominating proceedings for the first 20 minutes, coming close on multiple occasions. A flurry of corners went begging as they pushed forward in search of an opener. FCD had a chance of their own but couldn’t capitalise and convert it into goals. Independents were able to make their possession count and as a result, scored three goals.
