
Boy comes in contact with live wire in attempt to retrieve kite, dies

Bengaluru: A 13-year-old succumbed to burns he suffered after getting electrocuted while flying a kite near his house in RT Nagar here.
The deceased has been identified as Abu Bakr, a resident of HMT Layout. Sources from his family said that the boy was electrocuted while flying a kite in the Visveshvaraiah Park around 2 pm on Tuesday. Sources also said that while the boy was flying the kite with his friends, the kite got entangled in high-tension electric wires.
The boy climbed onto an adjacent building to remove the kite and accidentally came in contact with one of the wires. The boy reportedly fell down screaming and the family members and neighbours rushed him to Victoria Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries around 1.30 am on Wednesday.
Sources from the hospital said that the boy had suffered around 80 per cent burns on his body.
