Student killed in road accident

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old student was killed after a speeding vehicle knocked down her scooter at the Doddabele junction on NICE road in Kengeri on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Saritha, a first-year BCom student. Saritha is said to have gone on a temple visit along with her friend Anitha and was returning home on her scooter when the mishap occurred. As soon as being hit, Anitha slipped and fortunately fell on the safe side.

But the victim got dragged for a few meters along with the two-wheeler, leading to serious injuries. The duo was brought to the ESI hospital for treatment, where Saritha was declared dead. The Kengeri traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence.
