
Sukanya Shankar to share unique journey of sitar maestro

Bengaluru: For the first time in India, the wife of renowned sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar - Sukanya Shankar - will be joined by Spain-based Guillermo Rodriguez Martin, Founding Director, Casa de la India, in a conversation at a BIC event here and share the unique journey of the maestro on January 25.
No other classical musician is as wellknown and revered in the world and in his own country as Ravi Shankar. He has taught or influenced various artists across different genres of music in India and the world ranging from the likes of Yehudi Menuhin, George Harrison, John Coltrane, Sting, Herbie Hancock to Joshua Bell, the list could go on.
The coming event is a rare opportunity to hear how Ravi Shankar worked relentlessly as the champion of Indian culture throughout his life. For the very first time in India, his wife Sukanya Shankar will be joined by Guillermo Rodriguez Martin, Founding Director, Casa de la India in Spain.
