Man arrested for duping banks

Bengaluru: Sheshadripuram police arrested a man allegedly for duping banks by procuring loans against forged documents of lands belonging to someone else. The accused has been identified as Lokesh.

Police said that the accused was involved in such cases since 2016 and several cases have been registered against him at Vidyaranyapura, Kempegowda Nagar, Jigani, Sheshadripuram and other police stations in the city.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru Central Division, Srinivas Gowda, said, “When a team of policemen reached the house of the accused to arrest him, he started questioning them. The accused asked policemen why they let go ‘big shots’ like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi and have come to arrest a petty offender like him.”
