Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have nabbed the domestic worker who allegedly went missing after robbing the house of Joint Commissioner of pPolice (traffic) BR Ravikante Gowda.

Twenty-year-old Akshatha Nayak, a resident of Haveri, had been working as a domestic help at the top cop’s house for over three years. According to the complaint filed by Gowda’s driver, Jagadeesh, she was last seen on December 4 between 6 pm and 9 pm. Gowda was in Delhi while his family was visiting their native place.

“On Saturday, before taking Gowda’s second daughter to her friend’s place, I instructed Akshata to stay at home. When I returned at around 9:15pm, she was nowhere to be found,” Jagadeesh wrote in his complaint. “Three wrist watches, three gold earrings, one mobile phone and Rs 32000 in cash were missing” he said.

The earrings and cash belonged to another domestic help employed at the house. Only the wristwatches belong to the family.

The police tracked Akshata and recovered all the stolen valuables except the mobile phone. A senior police officer said that they have traced its location and will recover the phone soon.
