Lokayukta cops trap revenue inspector accepting bribe

Bengaluru: In yet another case, an official from the revenue department fell into the trap of Lokayukta police after he allegedly demanded a bribe from an applicant in order to upload documents into the e-khata portal here.
The accused, Vasanth Kumar, was a revenue inspector in Sanjay Nagar Ward-19. According to sources, the applicant, a resident of Bhoopasandra, approached Kumar for uploading his land records into the e-khata portal on Tuesday.
However, Kumar allegedly demanded Rs 5000 for the job after which the applicant reported the matter to the Lokayukta. A team led by Ashok BV laid a trap and caught Kumar red-handed while accepting a bribe from the applicant. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, against the accused.
