Farmers soften, to meet today
New Delhi: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced on Wednesday that it was inclined to accept the proposals of the Centre with regard to a range of issues, including assurance on minimum support price (MSP). Farmer leaders said that a formal announcement on calling off the agitation would only happen after they received a written assurance from the Union government. SKM leaders are set to meet at 12 noon on Thursday to decide on their future course of action. After objections by the farmers, the Centre forwarded a revised draft to the SKM on Wednesday. -(Agencies)
