CCTV helps capture car driver in hit-and-run death case

Bengaluru: Another person in the city lost his life after a speeding car ran over him in the T Dasarahalli area. Police said that the car driver, Shubha, has been arrested over the matter. Police identified the deceased as Sanjay Babu. According to sources, the incident took place on January 28 and Babu died in hospital on February 3.

Following a complaint filed by relatives of Babu, CCTV footage of the incident was retrieved by the traffic police that purportedly shows Shubha's car crashing into Babu's twowheeler and running over him near T Dasarahalli in the city. Sanjay Babu, along with his son Vedanth, was on his way to see his father when Shubha's car rammed his two-wheeler from behind and ran over them.

Sanjay Babu sustained serious injuries on his hand, the two legs and spinal cord while Vedanth suffered four broken ribs and a broken left shoulder. The duo was admitted to a hospital by locals, and doctors said Vedanth may require surgery. Peenya traffic police have arrested the car driver, Shubha, and are probing the case further.
