Bengaluru: All Karnataka State Government Employees’ Federation organised a one-day programme ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ on Tuesday at Freedom Park to raise the many problems faced by the state government employees. Various departmental associations from reportedly 25 districts took part in the programme.

Some of the Federation’s demands include timely revision of wages according to the 7th Pay Commission, regularising outsourced/ contract employee wages, repealing of PFRDA and NPS system to revert to the Old Pension System, filling up vacancies in various offices, abandoning privatisation of education and other public sector undertakings, and releasing of outstanding gratuity for 18 months that was forfeited during Covid-19.

“This is the first time we have so many demands of a wide spectrum,” said Jaikumar of the Federation, referring to the list of demands that ran up to 7 pages.

“Vandita Sharma, Chief Secretary (GoK) has given us an appointment at 5.30 pm today. She has called us for a discussion. She was unable to attend to this here so we, as a team, will be meeting her and discussing our demands,” he added.
