Bengaluru: Following suspicion over the sudden death of a young man hailing from West Bengal, the city police exhumed his cremated body to ascertain the exact cause of his death. The deceased, identified as Rasool, was working as a labourer in the city.
As per preliminary investigations, he was found hanging at his house in Kadugodi police station limits, by his friends two weeks ago. Alleging suicide, his friends buried his body without alerting the jurisdictional police about the incident. Sceptical of his death, the relatives of the deceased approached the police seeking help to solve the mystery.
The police exhumed the body and have sent it for a post-mortem analysis to determine the cause of his death. It was learnt that Rasool was married but his wife had left him a few years ago. It is also being alleged that he was not getting paid his wages properly by his employer.
"There is a possibility of Rasool taking the extreme step while being mentally depressed. But the matter is still under investigation and we are waiting for the post-mortem reports," police added.
