Arms dealer nabbed, 10 country-made pistols seized

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Maharashtra for allegedly supplying country-made pistols in various parts of the city. The police claimed to have seized ten countrymade pistols along with 32 live 7.65 mm bullets from the accused person's possession.

The police identified the accused as Roshan Dayaram, a native of Nagpur in Maharashtra. Joint Commissioner of Police, crime, SD Sharanappa Dhage on Tuesday said that the arrest was based on credible information that his team had received. The police detected three cases filed against Roshan, which included attempted murder and theft in Maharashtra, said the police.

"We were following a network who were into 'To handle Kashmir... one needs empathy' BENGALURU, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2023 2 supplying illegal weapons and based on a tip-off, we nabbed Roshan from Bengaluru and then seized four revolvers and 12 live bullets. After his interrogation, we sent a police team to Thane in Maharashtra and it recovered six country-made pistols and 20 live bullets," said Dhage. He said the police are yet to find out to whom Roshan was supplying these weapons in city.
