Bengaluru: Fans of political leaders can go to any extent to please their bosses. While some take a 'mannat' to please the gods, others offer 101 or even 1,001 coconuts; still others walk up to shrines, barefoot.
Here is a die-hard fan of former Deputy Chief Minister and Koratagere Congress MLA Dr G Parameshwar who has not shaved his beard for the last 25 years, waiting for his favourite neta to become chief minister of the State. This interesting incident came to light during the Yadava community convention held in Koratagere town in Tumakuru, which Dr Parameshwar attended.
The Congress leader and a noted Dalit leader disclosed this during his speech at the event. Gowdamuddaiah of Hunasimaradatti village in Madhugiri taluk is a die-hard supporter of Dr Parameshwar.
He will remove the beard on the day his political idol takes oath as the CM of Karnataka. Mentioning Gowdamuddaiah's unconditional love and affection, Dr Parameshwar became emotional and said though he has not helped that man in any way, his affection for him cannot be valued monetarily.
"I am indebted to Gowdamuddaaiah who belongs to the Yadav community. More than me having hopes of becoming the CM, Gowdamuddaiah has it. This is the best example of how members of the Yadava community have always supported me, he added."
With KPCC President DK Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah fighting for the CM’s post, the question here is will Dr Parameshwar get a chance to be the CM of Karnataka?
