Siddu top choice for CM in Twitter poll

Bengaluru: In what may well be an indication to which way the wind is blowing, Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the Assembly Siddaramaiah emerged as the number one choice for the next chief minister of Karnataka in a Twitter poll.
The poll was conducted by a Twitter handle PLE Karnataka, which has over 10,000 followers. More than 2,000 users took part in the poll. The tweet asked users as to who they wanted to see as the next CM in the state.
The options on offer were Karnataka Rashtra Samithi party’s Ravi Krishna Reddy, JD(S) legislature party leader HD Kumaraswamy, sitting CM Basavaraj Bommai and Siddaramaiah, who finished first with 35.4 per cent of the votes. Bommai came in last with 8.6 per cent of the votes cast. Reddy and Kumaraswamy finished with 26.5 percent and 29.5 percent of the votes respectively.
It is to be noted that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar wasn’t an option, despite being considered one of two likely candidates for the CM’s post from the party. Moreover, the poll has a sample size of only 2,000 or so, and the results may be skewed by the political leanings of the vote casters.
