City’s newly asphalted road 'peeling away'

Bengaluru: The newly Asphalted road at Agrahara Dasarahalli, Magadi Main road peeled away overnight pointing to the use of ‘subpar’ materials by the authorities in the road construction. The locals are obviously unhappy. On previous occasions, BBMP had filled the potholes that seemed to have been damaged due to unseasonal rains.

However, the weather in the city has been consistently hot this week. This gives locals the reason to believe that the materials used to asphalt the stretch were subpar. Two bicycle-riders reportedly skidded and fell on this road at night. A resident expressed his displeasure saying that the allegation of ‘40 per cent commission’ against the state government could be true.

A large number of other residents of the city too expressed their displeasure and alleged that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had asphalted the stretch using inferior quality materials. Workers have since been sent by the BBMP to quickly repair the damaged parts of the road. But the scar in people’s minds may take a long to repair.
