Bengaluru: Congress on Monday formally welcomed three former lawmakers into the party fold, including two from the BJP and one from the JD(S). The prominent name among them is former MLA from Tumakuru BJP KS Kiran Kumar, whose induction into the party had been talked about a day prior.

It is said that Kumar had been keen on contesting from Chikkanayanahalli segment in the upcoming Assembly polls. However, the seat is currently held by State Law Minister JC Madhuswamy. The second inductee Sandesh Nagaraj had been a JD(S) MLC, who had jumped ship to BJP last year.

The third, H Ningappa, had been a JD(S) MLA from Tumakuru Rural.
