Bengaluru: Thanks to an innovative plan of city Deputy Police Commissioner Chandrashekhar K Baba, the policemen have been restrained from putting up their photos as display pictures or DP on WhatsApp. Instead, they have been directed to upload the 'Lokaspandana' QR code, with immediate effect.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru South-East, Chandrashekhar K Baba, who is known to have implemented a few groundbreaking techniques to maintain law and order in his division, has issued the instruction to ensure that police officers do not reject any calls from the public.

In case people fail to reach the cops on phone they can scan the QR code and send a message which will go directly to the DCP, sources from the police told News Trail. Complaints against officers can also be sent using the Lokaspandana QR code, they added.

"If an officer is found to be avoiding phone calls f r o m t h e public, we can identify the of ficer and initiate necessary action after an inquiry," DCP Baba said. The move comes in the wake of several complaints against officers and following reports that some cops put up their stylish photos as display pictures on WhatsApp.
