Man arrested for sexual assault

Bengaluru: Jayanagar police arrested a person over an alleged sexual assault on a woman who works at a unisex saloon here, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru South, Krishnakanth, said on Friday. The accused was identified by the police as Ravindra Shetty. It is said that the accused is a relative of the owner of the saloon where the victim is employed.

According to a complaint filed with the police, the accused had been regularly visiting the saloon for a head massage and has been attempting to befriend the victim. On February 14, the accused allegedly attempted to assault the victim sexually while she was in the saloon.

However, the victim managed to escape from the spot and approach the jurisdictional police station. It has also been alleged that the accused had abused the victim by making casteist remarks at her.
