6-year-old dies after falling in pit

Bengaluru: A 6-year-old died after falling into a pit in an under-construction building late on Friday near Sultanpet here. The victim has been identified as Maheshwari, daughter of a couple employed as workers at the construction site. The child fell into the pit dug to install a lift. The pit was filled with water, leading to the child’s death by drowning.
The owner of the six-storied underconstruction building Vikram has been accused of constructing the building without obtaining the necessary permits or taking the necessary precautionary measures. A case has been registered regarding the matter at the KR Market Police Station and the police are currently carrying out a detailed investigation.
Housewife commits suicide An incident of a housewife committing suicide has come to light. The deceased has been identified as Kavya, 23. She was married to Venkatesh for the past eight years and the couple moved to Jai Maruthinagar in Nandini Layout only nine days ago.
They have two children. Originally hailing from Mysuru, Venkastesh was employed as a stone miner and visited his hometown once in three days. Kavya took the extreme step when nobody was home. A case has been registered at the Nandini Layout Police Station.
