Bengaluru: A used-car showroom in the city has gotten into trouble for allegedly selling a MUV with a fake number plate. A Toyota Innova car in the showroom of Cars Studio on Queen’s Road was spotted by Janata Dal (Secular) MLC S L Bhojegowda’s personal assistant, Madesh, as originally registered in the MLC's name.

Madesh tried to find out if the MLC car was put up for sale. He however found out that the said car was very much still in Bhojegowda’s house. Madesh investigated the matter with the showroom staff but did not get any specific answers.

Finding the matter suspicious, he filed a complaint with the High Grounds police station. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) R Srinivas Gowda has said that they carried out a detailed investigation and have arrested two people in connection with the case.

A probe is underway to find the involvement of others in the selling of used cars with fake registration plates and owners' involvement in the fraud. An FIR has been registered based on the complaint of Madesh. One Imran along with another accused is being questioned.
