Bengaluru: In a horrific incident, a 44-year-old owner of an advertisement printing agency was found bludgeoned to death in a house in Nayandahalli here on Tuesday. The deceased was identified by the police as Liyaqat Ali Khan, a resident of Chandra Layout I Stage, who was running a digital printing service named 'Royal Communications' on Gangondanahalli Main Road in Bengaluru.
It is learnt that Khan owned a house and is survived by his wife, a son who is studying in the first year PUC and a daughter studying MBBS. Preliminary investigation by the Chandra Layout police revealed that Khan regularly used to go to a gym in Nagarbhavi and then to his office. He would return to his house around 11.30 pm every day.
However on Monday, the family was concerned when he did not return even until 12.30 am. Khan's brother Mohsin went to inquire at the gym but was told that he had not come to the gym that day. Arman Ali Khan, Khan's son, while searching for his father, went to his office and found it locked. He came to Nayandahalli where he found his father's bike parked outside a vacant house near Chetty's Petrol Pump around 2 am on Tuesday.
Sources said that the house belonged to Khan, which he had rented out earlier. However, for the past several days, it was vacant. Arman went into the house as the door was open, but there was no light. He reportedly switched his mobile phone torch and was shocked to find his father lying in a pool of blood.
A police officer investigating the crime said there were blood stains on the interior walls of the house and Liyaqat was lying dead with injuries on his face and neck. “His family alerted us and we sent a patrol team to the spot.”
"There were multiple injuries on my father's head and there was blood all over. I touched his cold body and found that there was no movement. I alerted my family and then the police," Arman told News Trail.
Armaan, in his complaint, alleged that his father had lent some money to his business partners and had differences over this. As per sources, he has named three persons who are residents of Gangondanhalli, as prime suspects in the murder of his father. Based on the complaint, the Chandra Layout police have registered a case of murder and are investigating it.
